Dr Pascale Gruber is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at The Royal Marsden Hospital. She is currently Clinical Director for Surgery, Critical Care and Inpatient Services. Prior to this she was Clinical Lead for Intensive Care at the Royal Marsden Hospital for 5 years. She qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1996 and undertook her postgraduate medical training in general medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care in London. She spent a year as Assistant Professor in Intensive Care Medicine at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong where she developed an interest in critical care education. She is current Chair of the Division of Professional Development of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and previous Chair of the Clinical Training Committee. Her recent publications have been on outcomes of haematological cancer patients admitted to the ICU, quality of transition of end of life care of cancer patients in intensive care and education in intensive care. She has an interest in Management and Leadership in Intensive Care and written textbooks, lectured and run courses on this topic.
